"Blue Toile" — Handmade Smocked Dress for Sasha Doll (16" & 17")
A dress as enchanting as a page from a vintage botanical sketchbook.
This one-of-a-kind creation is made from a beautiful cotton fabric in a soft powder blue, adorned with an exquisite toile-style print of sweeping roses, trailing vines, delicate seed pods, and graceful leaves in deeper blue — a print that brings to mind fine porcelain and the timeless elegance of a country house drawing room.
The bodice features beautiful hand-smocking worked in DMC embroidery threads in soft blue with an accent row in navy and light blue, creating a classic diamond lattice pattern that perfectly echoes the blue tones of the fabric.
Short puff sleeves with neat turned-back cuffs give a sweet, timeless finish.
Darts have been added to the back bodice to create a beautifully shaped, tailored fit.
A beautifully full gathered skirt allows the gorgeous toile print to take centre stage, with the roses and vines trailing gracefully across the powder blue ground.
Fully lined throughout in white lawn cotton for a beautiful finish inside and out.
Opens fully at the back and closes with sewn-on snaps.

Designed and handmade by me in my home sewing studio — smoke-free and pet-free. Your dress will arrive beautifully presented in a box, wrapped in acid-free tissue paper to prevent wrinkles.
